Stebbins High School Jazz Band

The Stebbins High School Jazz Band brings energy, style, and creativity to life through the unmistakable sound of jazz.

Exploring a wide variety of genres—including swing, bebop, dixieland, fusion, and funk—the ensemble gives students the opportunity to experience the full spectrum of jazz performance. Rehearsals begin after school in November, leading to performances throughout the Mad River Local School District and the greater Dayton area.

The Jazz Band has earned recognition for performances at venues such as Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, the Beavercreek Weekend of Jazz, and numerous community events in Riverside. Since becoming a daily class in 2016, the program has continued to grow in both skill and reputation.

A highlight of the experience includes working with guest artists and clinicians such as Jay Halpin and Chris Braun, providing students with invaluable insight into professional musicianship and improvisation. Through collaboration, creativity, and a shared passion for music, the Stebbins Jazz Band continues to be a vibrant and essential part of the school’s music program.
